Setting Up Your SAFE Portal Account
Outline
Overview
The SAFE Services Portal gives you one set of credentials for the SAFE Academy: on-demand training and enablement, the knowledge base and product documentation, and the community and support areas.
This guide covers the one-time setup you complete when you are first added to the Portal — choosing a password and enrolling a multi-factor authentication (MFA) device. Once it is done, you sign in at https://login.safeone.ai or directly into SAFE Academy https://academy.safe.security.
Before you start
You need both of these:
- The welcome email. It comes from no-reply@safeone.ai with the subject Welcome to the SAFE Services Portal – Set Up Your Account Access. If you cannot find it, check your spam and quarantine folders before asking for another.
- An authenticator app that generates 6-digit codes, installed on your phone or computer. Google Authenticator, Okta Verify, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password and LastPass all work.
Note
The activation link in the welcome email expires seven days after it is sent. If yours has expired, you can request a new one by clicking the link in your invitation or requesting one through the SAFE service desk.
Activate your account
- Open the welcome email from no-reply@safeone.ai.
- Click Activate SAFE Portal Account.
The email also lists your username and your sign-in page, https://login.safeone.ai. Keep it until your setup is finished.
The Set up security methods page opens in your browser and lists everything you must set up before you can sign in. Work through it from the top.
Set your password
- Under Required now, next to Password, click Set up.
- On the Set up password page, type your new password in Enter password, then type it again in Re-enter password.
- Click Next.
Your password must meet every one of these requirements:
- At least 12 characters
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one symbol
- No part of your username, your first name or your last name
- Not one of your last 24 passwords
- At least one day must have passed since you last changed your password
Set up multi-factor authentication
Choose an authenticator
Back on Set up security methods, choose an authenticator under Required now and click its Set up button. Google Authenticator and Okta Verify are both offered.
Note
You do not have to use the Google Authenticator app. Choosing Google Authenticator works with any standard 6-digit authenticator, including Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password and LastPass.
Scan the QR code
Open your authenticator app, add a new account, and scan the QR code shown on screen. If you cannot scan it, click Can't scan? for a code you can type in instead. Then click Next.
Enter the verification code
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app in Enter code, then click Verify.
Finish setup
Okta Verify now appears under Optional. Add it as a second method if you want one, or click Continue to finish.
Your setup is complete and you are signed in to the SAFE Services Portal.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The welcome email has not arrived | Check your spam and quarantine folders. If it is not there, ask your SAFE contact to confirm which address the invitation was sent to. |
| The activation link has expired | Links expire after seven days. Clicking the Activation link will result in a new email being sent to your inbox. |
| You have lost the device holding your authenticator | Raise a request with the SAFE service desk to have your MFA enrolment reset, then set it up again on a new device using the steps above. |
| You have forgotten your password | Use the forgotten password option on the sign-in page at https://login.safeone.ai. |
